The episode opens in the Heeler house with Chilli and Bandit reading in the living room, until Bluey and Bingo appear into the room.
Bluey: Hey, Mum! Can you play zoo with us? Bingo’s gonna be Snowdrop, the toddler.
Bingo: And Mum’s gonna be Mum!
Chilli: [puts her book down] Okay.
Bluey: I’m gonna be Zookeeper! What about you, Dad?
Bandit: I’ll lie on the couch and read the paper.
Bluey: No! We’ve got a special job for you.
- [Bluey and Bingo laugh and giggle]
Bandit: Uh-oh!
TITLE CARD: ZOO
Bingo: This episode of Bluey is called, "Zoo".
- [The scene changes to the backyard where Snowdrop (played by Bingo) is eating a banana and Chilli (wearing a hat) step out, where the zookeeper (played by Bluey) is wearing a safari hat.]
Bluey: Good afternoon, Lady Gaberdine! Welcome to the zoo! I'm the zookeeper!
Chilli: Thank you! My precious little Snowdrop just adores animals.
Bingo: Animals! Animals!
Bluey: How about I show you some of them? Follow me.
[Chilli and Bingo follow Bluey over to a fence.]
Bluey: This is a gentle giraffe.
[It's a drawing of a giraffe behind the fence.]
Bluey: He's very friendly.
Chilli: Ooh, how delightful.
Bingo: Giraffe!
Bluey: [walks on] And if you follow me this way, you'll see our...
Bingo: Kangaroo! Kangaroo!
[A plush kangaroo toy is sitting behind the fence.]
Bluey: Well, it's like a kangaroo, young lady, but smaller. It's a pademelon. Very friendly.
[The toy falls onto its face with a squeak.]
Bluey: I'm pretty sure they like eating melons.
Bingo: [giggles] Boing, boing, boing!
Bluey: [walks over to another part of the zoo with Bingo and Chilli] Now, this next one is definitely NOT friendly: he's a big stinky baboon!
[Bandit is sitting behind a fence, still reading the paper. He lazily pretends to scratch himself.]
Bandit: [unenthusiastically] Ooh-ooh.
Bingo: [squeals and giggles] Big blue monkey!
Chilli: Well, I rather thought we'd see more movement from the animals.
[Bandit blows a raspberry at Chilli.]
Chilli: [gasps] What a brute! [lowers a hand in front of Bingo] Stay back, Snowdrop.
Bluey: [starts shaking the fence] Oi, get up, you big ape! Our visitors don't want to see you lying around all day.
Bandit: [looks at Bluey, then lies down] Ooh.
Bluey: What?!
Bingo: [giggles] Monkey sleep! Monkey sleep!
Bluey: That's it! [walks off-frame and returns with a pool noodle. She pokes it through the fence at Bandit, who gets up right away, making angry monkey noises] Dance for the lady, you lazy ape!
[Bandit takes the pool noodle away from Bluey, who squeals in surprise. He scratches his bum with it.]
Bandit: Ahhhh!
Chilli: Oh, my!
Bingo: [giggles] Monkey scratch butt-butt!
Bluey: Ah, forget this guy. Come on, let's go see the kookaburras.
[Bluey and Chilli walk off, while Bingo stays.]
Chilli: Come along, Snowdrop.
[Bingo looks at the banana she's holding, then at the ground, then to Bandit. She walks over and squeezes the banana through the fence]
Bandit: Ooh-ooh? [slowly walks over, reaches for the banana, and snatches it] Ooh-ooh-ooh. [eats the banana. Bingo squeezes through the fence, surprising Bandit.] Ooh!
Bingo: [points at Bandit] Big blue monkey!
Bandit: Ooh-ooh! [backs away from Bingo fearfully. Meanwhile Bluey and Chilli are looking at two toy kookaburras sitting on a wooden fence]
Bluey: These kookaburras think everything is funny.
Chilli: Ooh, look at these little darlings, Snowdrop. [looks to her right and notices Bingo isn't there] Snowdrop? [looks over to see Bingo in Bandit's enclosure, walking towards him]
Bingo: Snowdrop want hug.
Chilli: Snowdrop!
[Chilli runs over to the enclosure. Bandit is trying to shake Bingo off his leg.]
Chilli: That gorilla has Snowdrop!
Bingo: Snowdrop hug monkey! [Bandit, still making monkey sounds, shrugs.]
Bluey: Ugh! [stomps foot] That's it! Don't worry, madam, I'll sort this out straight away! [runs off and returns with a garden hose]
Chilli: Ooh! You be careful with that, won't you?
Bluey: He's not allowed to do this. It's against the monkey rules. [Bluey screams as she turns on the hose, spraying Bandit with water.]
Chilli: Watch out for my darling Snowdrop!
[Bandit sputters and hoots, putting Bingo down to protect her from the water. He then runs over to the fence with Bingo under his arm and jumps over it in a slow-mo shot. Bluey and Chilli both scream. He lands on the ground and runs off, making the two fall over.]
Bluey: Would you like to see our reptile section?
Chilli: No!
[Bandit, still holding Bingo runs inside from the back.]
Chilli: Zookeeper, this is unheard of. I demand you rescue my little Snowdrop at once.
Bluey: [gets into a toy car] Don't worry, madam, everything's under control.
[Bluey makes car noises as she pretends to drive inside. Bandit sniffs the air, but is startled by a screaming Bluey, who confronts him.]
Bluey: There you are!
Bandit: Ooh! [takes off]
Bluey: [chases after him, going in circles] Get back here, you big ape! This is not how you treat our visitors!
Chilli: Snowdrop, darling! Are you OK?
[Bingo squeals and giggles as she and Bandit pass Chilli.]
Bluey: Everything's OK, madam! Feel free to check out our emus!
[Bandit jumps onto the ottoman.]
Bluey: Vroom-vroom!
Bandit: Ooh-ooh.
Bluey: Vroom-vroom-vroom!
Bandit: Ooh-ooh-ooh.
[Bluey squeals and chases after Bandit and Bingo. Bandit climbs up the stairs, which a car cannot go up.]
Bluey: Hey! Get back here, ape!
Bandit: Ooh-ee-ee-ee-ah-ah-ah! [runs off with Bingo, who is squealing and giggling]
Chilli: [falls to her knees] Snowdrop!
Bluey: Would you like to visit our gift shop?
[Bandit and Bingo run through the hallway. Bingo notices the walk-in pantry and points to it.]
Bingo: Hide in here, monkey.
Bandit: Ooh-ooh-ooh-ee-ee. [enters the pantry and shuts the door. He is panting. Bingo offers him a biscuit.] Ooh? [looks at Bingo, who silently insists. He snatches the cookie from her] Ooh-ooh! [eats the biscuit]
Bingo: [claps and giggles] Me, Snowdrop. You...?
Bandit: Ooh-ooh?
Bingo: No, no. Me Snowdrop, you...?
Bandit: Ooh-ooh?
Bingo: [giggles] You Ooh-Ooh. [points to herself] Snowdrop. [pats Bandit's tail] Ooh-Ooh.
Bandit: Ooh-ooh. [Bingo giggles]
[Bluey and Chilli are sitting in the playroom. Bluey is tying a banana to some rainbow yarn.]
Bluey: That blue ape won't be able to resist this banana. And when he goes for it, we'll trap him!
Chilli: Well, I should say so. Goodness knows Snowdrop will be so worried without me!
[Cut back to the pantry, where Bandit is playing Peek-a-boo with Bingo.]
Bandit: [covering his eyes] Ahh...Ooh-ooh! [reveals his eyes to Bingo, who laughs. He covers his eyes again] Ahh...Ooh-ooh! [reveals his eyes again, and Bingo laughs some more]
[Cut back to the playroom, where the banana is hanging from the yarn as a trap. Bluey and Chilli are waiting, hiding behind a chair.]
Chilli: [whispering] How long will this take?
[Bandit and Bingo can be heard, making monkey noises and giggling.]
Bluey: Oh, I can hear them!
[Bandit opens the pantry door. He and Bingo look around.]
Bandit: Ooh-ooh? [the two of them pass the playroom] Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh. [Bandit stops] Ooh-ooh! [he notices the banana hanging on the string. He bangs his chest] Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ee-ee-ee-ah-ah! [runs to the banana]
Bingo: [peers inside the door] No!
[Bandit reaches for the banana. Bluey catches him with a blanket. Bandit squirms inside while Bluey holds onto it.]
Bluey: Stay down, you big baboon!
Bingo: [walks inside] Ooh-Ooh!
Chilli: [gasps] Snowdrop! [runs up to Bingo and hugs her]
Bluey: I'll have to tickle the big fella to sleep! [she tickles the blanket and Bandit laughs. She continues this until he falls asleep. She gets off the blanket] See? Everything's under control. You're a very lucky little girl, young lady.
Bingo: No! [tries to run to Bandit, but Bluey stops her] Ooh-Ooh!
Chilli: Snowdrop! [picks up Bingo and carries her out of the room]
Bingo: Ooh-Ooh! [Bluey looks on with remorse] Ooh-Ooh... [Bluey looks over to Bandit, then down at the ground sadly]
[Cut to nighttime. Bingo is sadly sitting in her bed. She is still pretending to be Snowdrop. Chilli, still playing Lady Gaberdine, approaches.]
Chilli: Nighty night, my little Snowdrop.
Bingo: See Ooh-Ooh tomorrow?
Chilli: Goodness, no! I don't think we'll go back to that zoo anytime soon. [exits the room]
Bingo: [rolls over in her bed] Snowdrop miss Ooh-Ooh. [closes her eyes]
[Bluey peeks through the window and opens it.]
Bluey: Psst, Snowdrop! You've got a visitor.
[Bingo opens her eyes and runs over to the window. She climbs onto Bluey's bed.]
Bluey: [to someone off-screen] Hey, come here, you big baboon.
[Bandit rises up to the window, exciting Bingo.]
Bandit: Ooh-ooh-ee-ee!
Bingo: Ooh-Ooh!
[Bandit climbs into the room through the window and onto the bed. Bingo runs up to hug him.]
Bingo: Ooh-Ooh.
Bandit: Ooh-ooh.
[Bluey watches on, smiling. The episode concludes as the credits roll.]
