Biography
The younger sister of Muffin, Socks is the youngest daughter of Stripe and Trixie, the niece of Bandit, Chilli, Rad, and Frisky Heeler (as of Frisky’s marriage to Rad), and the granddaughter of Bob and Chris.
She was present at the Heeler family barbecue. Some time later, she visited the Heeler house while Chilli and Trixie went out for hockey. She was particularly enamoured by a doll of Bluey's named Polly Puppy. Being rather bitey, she attacked Polly, and no one was going to stop her - not even Stripe, who immediately conceded defeat after she growled at him. In fact, Bluey was going to put the doll away, but got distracted by Bandit... While the kids held a "horsey wedding" for Sparkles and Gallahop, Socks continued to hold on to Polly. Muffin insisted Sparkles and Gallahop be married, and soon, the wedding went awry after Sparkles became a runaway bride. Socks joined the other girls in chasing after Sparkles, while Bluey successfully extracted Polly.
Socks played the role as Bumpy in a video Bluey made for Bingo while the latter was sick in the hospital. The story revolved around a girl named Barnicus who longed for a puppy of her own. After wishing upon a star, she found out that she has a puppy of her own, named Bumpy. Bumpy's first appearance on camera, however, did not go that well as she bit the director. A very happy Barnicus and a very bitey Bumpy were very close, until one day, Bumpy fell sick. Barnicus decided to wait it out, but Bumpy showed no signs of recovery. Even after asking around from locals willing to help her, no one was able to tend to her. A baker directs Barnicus (played by Bluey) to the Wise Old Wolfhound, who asks her to bring back a pair of purple underpants from someone who had never been sick before. Barnicus' efforts were fruitless, and she realised being sick was a part of life. Eventually, Bumpy recovered. In the outro, Socks bit Bandit once more.
Together with her sister and cousins, Socks was included in the wedding party for Rad and Frisky’s wedding. During a “rehearsal”, she had trouble with her garland of flowers falling down over her eyes. Socks and the other girls would accompany her aunt Chilli in a search for Frisky after an incident between Frisky and Rad prompted her to storm off in anger. Fortunately, the situation was ultimately resolved, and the wedding took place with Socks acting as ring bearer.[1]
Appearance
Socks is a Blue Heeler with three different shades of light blue all over her fur and a bit of dark brown at the start of her tail, and light brown after it just like Stripe. She has a black nose and bright beige for the insides of her ears. She has dark blue on both of her ears and a splash on the left side of her head and a subtle spot connected to the start of her tail. She has bright blue for her feet (resembling socks, thus her name), stomach, and tail and a stripe in the middle of her forehead. She also has freckles on her muzzle.
Initially she had some ends of hair flipped up with curled upwards on her darker left side of head. After turning two or learning to walk on her hind legs, this visual quirk moved onto her lighter right side of head making her to resemble more of her mother.
Personality
Socks behaves like a typical puppy for the entirety of season one and into the middle of season two. She bites people and toys, walks on her hands and knees, and barks. She occasionally bites and growls at people, even Bandit and her father. She is too young to understand the consequences of her actions, such as biting Bluey, but she can also be quite sensitive. By the end of season two, Socks still has some dog-like characteristics but is able to walk and talk like the rest of her family. Although they are both gentle and amiable, she is more quieter and kinder, taking turns and avoiding her sister Muffin's antics (she is perhaps the opposite of Muffin, who is boisterous, vivacious, and self-assertive). Despite making few appearances in season three, Socks has grown into a more recognized toddler who appears to enjoy flowers and the outdoors (from Faceytalk and Pizza Girls). Even though she continues to develop, particularly in "The Sign," Socks is now more outspoken and largely self-sufficient. She's calmer, sweeter, and more polite than Muffin. She uses "please" and "thank you" and eats her wedding cake with a spoon rather than gobbling it down from the plate as Muffin does. She is really helpful and persistent in her search for Frisky's blue automobile, which she eventually finds. She is loving and enjoys holding hands and giving hugs to her relatives.

Trivia
- Socks is male in the Hebrew,Romanian and Russian dubs.
- Socks speaks in her first appearance in BBQ and several other episodes:
- She says, "Green capsicum" and "Green pepper," however she pronounces it as "Gleen capshimun"/"gleen peppah" (depending on the dubbing of the audience-Australia or international English respectively).
- In Charades, she is able to say "Ballerina" correctly.
- In Christmas Swim, she can say "Pizza" and "Merry Christmas".
- Socks is shown speaking in simple sentences for the first time in the short Honk.
- In The Sign, Socks says "Aunt Chilli, I need the toilet", and "Aunt Chilli, can I please have a watermelon juice?" indicating she is now capable of speaking full sentences with proper grammar.
- Unlike Muffin, she has learned to say her r's and l's.
- Her name most likely refers to the light blue patterns on her paws, which resemble socks.
- In Honk and Horsey Ride, Stripe calls her Rock-Socks.
- Throughout season one and for most of season two, Socks walks on all fours with a dog-like posture and has notably dog-like behaviour. She first stands upright in Christmas Swim (canonically in the short Honk).
- Her new, upright model lacks the stripes which were part of her original ankle and wrist markings.
- This may be intended to make her easier to animate, as her stripes are very close to her joints, which causes clipping issues when she bends her limbs. See an example here.
- Before she walks upright, she appeared twice with a variant model with an upright posture in Backpackers and briefly in Charades. This model is distinct from her model from Christmas Swim onwards, as it still has her original markings.
- Her doglike posture and behaviour is unique. There are many possible reasons why:
- It may have been intended as a normal phase of dog development that was either later retconned for the sake of Baby Race or is a phase dogs go through specifically at age one (since the babies in Baby Race were younger than one).
- It may be an unusual gait she developed instead of crawling. The reason:
- May have simply been her preference, similar to Bluey rolling, then bum-shuffling, instead of crawling, then later crawling backwards, in Baby Race.
- Could be a result of neurological difference.
- Might have been more comfortable than crawling due to physiological differences — perhaps an atavistic throwback to the quadrupedal ancestors mentioned in Archaeology.
- Her new, upright model lacks the stripes which were part of her original ankle and wrist markings.
- Her favourite colour of capsicum is green.
- Judging by her drawings in Faceytalk, Socks seems to like flowers and nature.
- She is the youngest member of the Heeler family, and one of the youngest characters in Bluey (counting Chloe's baby brother).
- Socks is now toilet trained as of The Sign.
