Bingo and Lila are excited to play on their new waterslide.[2]
Bingo and Lila are excited to play on their new waterslide, but when bugs keep crawling across it, they decide to play a game of Bug Inspector so they don’t squish them.
One of them goes down slowly, helping the bugs onto the grass and the other follows sliding behind.
This works well until Dad runs across to have a turn sliding and the kids must act quickly to save a caterpillar. Bingo yanks around the bottom of the slide, saving the bug but sending Dad flying into the bushes!
The next day at Kindy, the caterpillar has turned into a butterfly and lands on Lila and Bingo’s joined hands.[3]
Episode Recap[]
Warning Spoilers!
The girls have fun, Bingo exclaiming that they are the luckiest kids in the world. Soon, the duo encounter a little leaf bug, who is lucky to have not been squashed given they stopped just before the hit the leaf. Bingo helps the leaf bug out of the slide, joining the caterpillar from earlier. Now, Lila has encountered a ladybug, which Bingo is able to free, and now an ant, joined by another - while Bingo likes ladybugs more, she says they shouldn't squish them.
The girls move the slide away from the ants, rolling up its edges to make walls. However, the wall has been infiltrated by a grasshopper that Bingo barely manages to clear. This problem is definitely frustrating them; not even closing their eyes while sliding works. However, the girls bowling over each other had saved the life of an iridescent beetle. Indeed, according to Lila, it is lucky their tactic did not work. The duo are soon out of ideas, though Lila suggests that one goes at a time. This works out for them, as Lila is able to inspect for bugs before Bingo goes for the slide, and vice-versa. Indeed, luck is on a caterpillar's side.
However, Bandit enters the room, charging in like it is no tomorrow! Bingo and Lila has now profiled the slide into a ninety-degree turn - Bandit goes off-track and slides through the grass and into the bushes, taking him out of the session - and throughout that, the caterpillar has survived. The caterpillar is carried over to an agapanthus leaf, where it blossoms into a beautiful blue butterfly, which happens to join Bingo and Lila at kindy as the duo play another game of Rock Paper Scissors.

Trivia[]
- A clip of the episode was uploaded by Ludo Studio as an unfinished animatic.[4][5]
- The clip has been set to private, so it cannot be watched, but is available in the gallery via a gif.
- The clip reveals that the working title for the episode was Water Slide.
- This episode was originally going to be part of Series 2, however it was pushed back to Series 3 instead.[citation needed]
- This episode, alongside Exercise, appeared on a promotional video for ABC regarding new & returning programmes for 2023.[6]
- This is currently the first and only episode in the show's history where Bluey herself is not only absent, but also not mentioned by name.
- This is the third consecutive episode where Chilli doesn't appear. However, given that Bandit arrives at the house at the beginning of the episode, it is possible she is inside.
- At the beginning of the episode, Lila wins a game of Rock Paper Scissors, with her rock beating Bingo's scissors. At the end of the episode however, Bingo wins, her paper beating the scissors.
- As the girls celebrate when realising they have a waterslide, Bandit's tail also wags quite considerably.
- In the first close-up shots of the grass, when Bandit walks by where the caterpillar crawls, water droplets can be seen shooting off.
- When Bingo says "Lucky you're so smart Lila", Lila wags her tail with a grin.
- This episode has many callbacks to previous episodes, such the gnome (Backpackers, Hide and Seek, Hammerbarn among others), the walking leaf (The Weekend), the ladybug (Butterflies and Yoga Ball) and the ants (Work, the episode Bingo and Cubby).
- It is revealed that Chris Heeler and Lila's nana squish bugs, and both their mums do not. Ironically, this episode would win an award from PETA for teaching children not to squish bugs
- Joe Brumm stated that a future episode will feature a connection to this episode. [7]
- The butterfly seen in the episode would later be referred to by Bingo as "Flappy" in The Sign, and it is hinted that this is the same butterfly that she and Lila saved.
- The gnome Bandit hits is the same gnome that is referred to as Jeremy.
- The character section on the episode's page on the official website has Bingo stamping in water.[8]
