The episode opens with an establishing shot of the Heelers' house.

Cut to the entryway. Chilli kneels down in front of the credenza. She puts the squeaky echidna toy inside and closes the door. She stands up.

Chilli: "There! Tidy."

Bluey dumps a box of puzzle pieces on the floor.

Chilli: (frustrated) "Bluey!"

Bluey: "What?!"

Chilli: "I just tidied. What are you doing?!"

Bluey holds up the puzzle box.

Bluey: "Panda puzzle!"

Chilli: "But Dad's about to take you to the Trampolinium."

Bluey: "It won't take long. The pieces are big. See?"

She holds up a puzzle piece.

Chilli: "Alright. But promise me you'll tidy it up when you're done."

Bluey: "I promise."

Bandit marches in.

Bandit: "Alright! Trampolinium!"

He pumps his fist. Bingo runs after him.

Bluey, Bingo: "Yeah!"

Bluey gets up and starts to run after Bandit.

Chilli: "Bluey! Puzzle!"

Bluey: "I'm not done!"

Cut to the car driving down the street. In the background, Rocko is out jogging, and Doreen waits at the bus stop. Bluey is making a hand puppet.'

Bluey: (making low-pitched bird noises) "Ack ack ack, aaawnk! Ack ack ack!"

She spots the library through the car window.

Bluey: "Ooh, Dad, can we go to the library?"

Bandit: "No, mate, we're going to the Trampolinium."

Bluey: "What about after?"

Bandit: "Uh... Yeah, okay, we can go after."

Bluey: "Do you promise?

Bandit: Yeah, I promise."

Bluey, Bingo: "Hooray!"

Cut to the trampolinium, where several children are bounding in the trampoline enclosure. Bluey and Bingo bounce together, holding hands.

Bluey: "Whee!"

Bingo: "Whoo!"

Bluey: "Whee!"

Bandit walks up to the screen around the trampoline enclosure.

Bandit: "Time to go, kids!"

Bluey, Bingo: "No! No!"

Bandit: "Come on! It's almost dinner."

Bluey, Bingo: "Just one more minute!"

Bandit: "You've had twenty 'one more minute's."

Bluey: "Run, Bingo!"

Bluey and Bingo squeal as they bounce away from Bandit.

Bandit: "That's it, I'm coming in."

Bluey and Bingo continue to squeal as Bandit comes into the trampoline enclosure and chases after them, stumbling on the unstable footing.

Bandit: "Whoa! Hey! Get back here! Whoa!"

Bandit stumbles on the padding between trampolines and falls on his face. Bluey and Bingo bounce by him and laugh. He turns around and crawls after them.

Bandit: "Argh! Stop it!"

Cut back to the car, driving past the library at sunset. Cornelius sits on a bench, reading.

Bluey: "Oh, Dad, can we go to the library now?"

Bandit: "Nah, it's closed, mate."

Bluey: "But you said we could go after the Trampolinium."

Bandit: "Yeah, but we stayed way longer than I thought."

Bluey: (sadly) "But...you promised."

Bandit looks at her in the rear view mirror, then looks back at the road.

Bandit: "Oh, man."

TITLE CARD - Promises

Bluey: [voiceover] "This episode of Bluey is called: Promises"

Cut to Bluey and Bingo's bedroom Bingo is laying down with her eyes closed. Bluey is sitting up in bed with her arms folded. Bandit walks into the doorway.

Bandit: "Night, kids."

Bingo opens her eyes for a moment.

Bingo: "Night, Dad!"

Bluey: "Hmph."

Bandit walks to Bluey's bedside.

Bandit: "Are you still cranky with me?"

Bluey: "You said we could go to the library."

Bandit: "It was shut!"

Bluey: "You promised. And you shouldn't break your promise."

Bandit: "Yeah, I know, mate, but..."

Chilli: (yelling from downstairs) "Why is this panda puzzle not tidied up?!"

Bluey: "Uh-oh!"

Bandit: Quick! Hide!"

Bandit tosses the covers over Bluey's head. Footsteps rapidly approach. Chilli enters the room.

Chilli: (annoyed) "Where is she?"

Bandit: "Uh... Where's who?"

Chilli: "The kid who broke her promise to clean up the panda puzzle."

Bandit: "Ohh! How interesting!"

Bandit pulls the blanket away.

Bluey: "Argh!"

Bandit: "Did Bluey break her promise?"

Bluey: "Well, you broke your promise, so I can break mine."

Chilli: "What?"

Bingo: "It's true. Dad broke his promise."

Bandit: "The library was shut!"

Chilli: "Seems like we've got a promising problem."

Bluey, Bingo: "Yeah!"

Bandit: "Okay, from now on, no-one makes any more promises."

Bingo: (distressed) "But you promised you'd always love us!"

Bandit: "Whoa. I didn't think this through."

Chilli: "Listen, you can still make promises. You just have to keep them.

Bandit, Bluey, Bingo: "Okay, yeah."

Bandit, Bluey: "That makes more sense."

Bingo pretends to wipe sweat from her brow.

Bingo: "Phew!"

Bandit puts Bluey's blanket back on the bed. He holds out his hand with pinky extended.

Bandit: "Bluey, from now on, we keep our promises."

Bluey hooks her pinky around his, making a pinky promise.

Bluey: "No matter what!"

Bandit: "No matter what."

Bluey yawns."

Bluey: "Well, goodnight, everyone!"

She lies down to sleep.

Chilli: "PANDA PUZZLE!"

Bluey: "Argh!"

Bluey jumps up and runs out of the room.

Cut to the front yard, the next morning. Chilli sits in the driver's seat of the car, while Bandit leans on the hood.

Bandit: (frustrated) "Come on, kids! Hurry UP!"

Chilli: (quietly) "Hey, this morning, I said to Bingo to hurry up, and she said 'I am hurry upping!'"

They both chuckle.

Bluey walks up, taking extremely small steps. She's carrying a tote bag of books.

Bluey: "Dad, will you play Toddlers with us at the library?"

Bandit: "I'll play anything with you at the library if you hurry up."

Bluey: "Do you promise?"

Bandit: "I promise. Now come on!"

Bluey giggles, then turns around and calls out to Bingo.

Bluey: "Bingo, Dad promised to play Toddlers at the library!"

Bingo runs out the front door, slamming it behind her. She also has a tote bag.

Bingo: "Yeeees!"

Bluey and Bingo hurry into the back seat.

Bandit: "Hey, hang on, what's Toddlers?"

Cut to the library. Chilli pauses outside the entrance, putting books into the return. Bluey and Bingo enter, walking on their knees.

Bluey, Bingo: "Ee! Ee! Ee! Ee!"

Bandit: "This is Toddlers?!"

Bluey: "Yeah. You have to walk everywhere on your knees."

Bandit: "No way!"

Bluey: (singsong) "But a promise is a promise!"

Bandit: "Ugh! Fine."

Cut to the circulation desk. The librarian works at her computer. The top of Bandit's head enters the frame, as he grunts with each step.

Bandit: "Excuse me."

The librarian looks over, seeing nothing.

Librarian: "Huh?"

Bandit: "Down here.

She leans over the desk.

Librarian: "Oh."

Cut to her perspective, showing the tops of Bandit, Bingo, and Bluey's heads over the edge of her desk. Bluey and Bingo giggle.

Cut back to a wide shot, showing Bandit, Bluey, and Bingo on their knees in front of the desk.

Librarian: "Hello."

Bandit: (unenthused) "Me want books for big boys."

Bluey and Bingo squeal.

Librarian: "Uh... Next to the magazines."

Bandit: "Thanks!"

They head off in the direction she indicated, walking on their knees. Bluey and Bingo giggle.

They walk past rows of shelves; various library patrons looking up as Bandit grunts and the girls continue giggling.

Cut to a shelf, where Bandit groans as he tries to reach a book. Bluey gets the attention of a library patron.

Bluey: "Excuse me, can you help my little brother, please?"

Library Dog: "Oh, yes. Here you go, young man."

Library dog picks up the book and hands it to Bandit. Then she gets a good look at him, her face falling. He holds the book out to her.

Bandit: "Read to me."

Library Dog: "Oh!"

Cut to the children's section. Bandit builds a tower of blocks, which falls as he places the final block on top. Bandit pretends to cry.

Bandit: "Wah."

"Bluey and Bingo giggle."

Cut to the library deck. The family sits at a table, Chilli and Bandit have cups of coffee. Bluey and Bingo are still giggling.

Bluey, Bingo: "That was funny."

Bandit: "Yeah, yeah."

Chilli: "Well done for keeping your promise."

Bandit: "Thanks! Speaking of - Bluey, do you mind if I put my books in your book bag?"

Bluey: "Sure!"

Bandit: "You promise you don't mind? It's only two books."

Bluey: "Yeah, I promise."

She holds out her book bag.

Bandit: "Great! Here they are."

Bandit pulls out two thick tomes and slams them on the table.

Chilli, Bluey, Bingo: "Ah!"

Bluey: "What?!"

Bandit: "Ha!"

Cut to the footpath in front of the library. Bluey growls with effort as she drags her book bag.

Bluey: "Wait up! These books are heavy!"

Cut to a wider shot, showing Bingo, Chilli, and Bandit walking in front of Bluey. Bandit hums contentedly.

Bandit: "Thanks, Bluey! You're a star."

Chilli: "Okay, listen you two."

Bluey lets go of her bag and rubs her arm.

Chilli: "You can't use promises to trick each other."

Bandit, Bluey: "Ohh!"

Chilli: "The whole point of promises is to build trust. If there's no trust, none of this is possible."

Chilli gestures widely, indicating all of their surroundings.

Bluey: "What, none of the whole world?"

Chilli: "None of it."

Chilli counts on her fingers.

Chilli: "No libraries, no roads, no power lines."

Bingo: "No power lines?!"

Bluey: "I'm not sure about that. I think we'd still have power lines."

Chilli: "No, we wouldn't."

Bandit: "Mum's right."

Bandit kneels down and extends a pinky to Bluey.

Bandit: "No more promise-y tricks."

Bluey hooks her pinky around his, making another pinky promise.

Bluey: "Okay."

Bingo: "Ooh! Can we play in the playground?!"

Bluey: "Yeah, please, can we?"

Chilli: "Yes, but it's almost lunch, so when I say it's time to go, it's time to go."

Bluey: "Okay, Mum!"

Bluey starts to run towards the playground, but Chilli puts out her arm, blocking Bluey's path.

Chilli: "You promise?"

Bluey: "We promise!"

Bingo hands Chilli her bag, and they run off to the playground, giggling.

Cut to an aerial view of the playground. Bandit and Chilli sit on a bench, as Bingo plays on the swings. Bluey waves to Chilli from the top of the play structure, and Chilli waves back. Bluey: "Flying fox!"

Bluey climbs up onto the launch platform as the toddler pushes off, riding the flying fox out of frame.

Flying Fox Kid: "Whee!"

The toddler rides the flying fox to the end of the rail and walks it back. He starts getting on again.

Bluey: "Oh. Um... I think it's my turn."

Flying Fox Kid: "It's my turn!"

He rides the flying fox again.

Flying Fox Kid: "Whee!"

Bluey: (annoyed) "Hm!"

Bingo: (off screen) "Bluey! Help!"

Cut to the climbing dome. Bingo is sitting on top of it.

Bluey: "Are you okay, Bingo?!"

Bingo: "I can't get down!"

Bluey: "Just climb down the way you came."

Bingo: "It's too high."

Cut to Chilli and Bandit, relaxing on the bench.

Bandit: "This morning I said to Bingo, 'Please stop whingeing,' and she said, 'But I only just started.'"

Chilli and Bandit laugh.

Bluey runs up.

Bluey: "Mum, Bingo's stuck!"

Chilli: "Oh, goodness!"

Bluey and Chilli run off.

Cut back to the climbing dome. Bluey and Chilli stand inside the dome. Chilli has her arms raised towards Bingo.

Chilli: "Come on, Bingo! Jump to me!"

Bingo: "I don't want to."

Chilli: "It's fine, honey. I'll catch you."

Bingo: "You promise?"

The camera focuses on Bluey, as she watches the exchange.

Chilli: "I do. I promise."

Bingo slides off the bar.

Bingo: "Argh!"

Chilli catches her, swinging her around in a circle.

Chilli: "Whoa!"

Bingo laughs and squeals.

Chilli: "My goodness! Well—"

The kid from the flying fox walks past Bluey, snarling and swiping at the air with imaginary claws. Bluey looks at the flying fox and gasps.

Cut to the flying fox. Bluey pulls the seat over to the launching platform and gets ready to launch.

Bluey: "Here we go!"

Chilli: (off screen) "Bluey! Lunch! Time to go!"

Bluey looks down, then right at the camera.

Cut to the end of the flying fox track. The trolley approaches, then hits the end of the track with no rider.

Cut to the living room. The whole family is reading their library books.

Cut to the bathroom. Bluey and Bingo sit on the floor, reading their books as they brush their teeth.

Cut to the living room. Bandit and Chilli both lay on the couch, still reading their books.

Chilli: "Oh, babe, today I asked Bingo to tidy her beads away, and she said 'I'm not interesting in that.'"

Bandit and Chilli chuckle.

Cut to Bluey and Bingo standing at the top of the stairs.

Bingo: "Do you tell stories about us when we're asleep?!"

Bandit: "Get back to bed!"

Bluey and Bingo giggle and run off.

Cut to a shot of the full moon.

Cut to the bedroom, where Bluey and Bingo are asleep, library books scattered on the floor. The camera pulls back to reveal Bandit leaning on the doorframe.

Bandit: (quietly) "I promise I'll always love you."
