Piggyback is the eighteenth episode of the second season of Bluey.

Synopsis

The Heelers take a long riverside walk, but Bingo's legs are tired, and she wants a piggyback. To distract her, mum and dad invent fun games and get her little legs moving again.

The Heelers are on holiday. Bluey and Bingo ride on scooters, though the latter says her legs are already tired. However, she perks up when Bluey mentions an ice cream shop and rides there with her sister. However, it's closed. Bingo asks for a piggyback, though Bandit wants her to walk with them to the river herself. Chilli tells her it's indeed good exercise, and Bandit makes a promise to Bingo: if she's worn out, he'll give her a piggyback.

Bluey sets up a race, with Bingo being given an assist in the form of a turbo boost from Chilli. The finish line, also known as Bandit, edges away from the girls, though he quickly becomes exhausted as the girls both cross the finish at the same time. Bingo requests another piggyback, but perks up when Bluey points out a family of "itchity grubs", who are soon under threat from an imposing force - a mum with a stroller is about to pass by. Bingo warns the mum about the grubs, to which she raises her stroller above them. Crisis averted.

Bingo asks for another piggyback and is soon asked herself to bring a dropped pacifier back to the mum, which she does. She skips back to the family, though when asked if her legs are tired, she droops back into exhaustion. Bingo perks up once again as she grabs a pair of pinecones for Chilli and engages in the game of hitting a tree with a stick until either object breaks - this time, it's the sticks, specifically Bingo's.

Bingo requests yet another piggyback, but Chilli has found a bin chicken! The two chase the wayward ibis as it runs off and soon sneak up on their parents successfully. Bingo requests yet another piggyback, but Chilli ropes her daughter into a game of Chariots which Bluey easily wins. Now that's good exercise!

Bluey now wants to race Bandit to a nearby boulder, and Bingo will start the race. First, goat, then go...anna!- oops, the start was jumped! As Bluey and Bandit do their race, Bingo, exhausted, collapses into the ground. Chilli now notices that Bingo's legs perk up when she's having fun - confirmed as she starts a game of Gingerbread Man.

And work it does, as Bingo, now the Gingerbread Man, runs off ahead of Bluey and Bandit... and eventually reaches the riverbank herself. Bandit offers Bingo a piggyback, but she declines, so Chilli takes the initiative by jumping onto Bandit's back.

Trivia

• Bubble O' Bill cameos as one of the ice creams listed at the ice cream shop.
• At the point when Bluey wins the race on her scooter, she does one of her dances from the opening title sequence.
• Running Gag:
  • Bingo complaining that she want Bandit to give her a piggyback.
  • Bingo complaining that her legs are tired but when Chilli tells her something she instantly sprints to it.
• The box Bluey and Bingo hid behind (which are seen later one near the end), look like a LEGO brick. (It is in fact a free BBQ - common in Australian parks)
• The Australian White Ibis from Shaun reappears in this episode.
• A adult Bull Terrier and her puppy can be seen sitting at a table.
• A Border Collie artist seen drawing in the background of Bandit's part of the gingerbread man scene is based on Art Director Costa Kassab.
• Long Dog: This long dog is teal-ish and is wearing a yellow bike helmet. It can be found in the gazebo that Checkout Dog and another dog are in.
• When this episode aired on Disney Channel in the US, it was paired with Bus and Mum School.
• The "Itchity grubs" are processionary caterpillars, the larvae of the bag-shelter moth. Bluey is combining their common name (itchy grub) with witchetty grub, a term for edible moth larvae. Processionary caterpillars are not considered edible, as they are covered in rash-causing hair and scales throughout their entire lifespan.
