"Aw yeah righto!" ― Pat's catchphrase

Pat (usually referred to as Lucky's Dad) is a secondary character that appears in Bluey.

Bluey.tv Description

Pat is usually referred to as “Lucky’s Dad”. He lives next door to the Heelers and often finds himself swept up in their wild games.

He was once pounced on by Lioness Chilli, had his meat pie stolen by Bandit and has even been attacked by Bluey’s stuffed crocodile! But Pat is endlessly forgiving and is always a good sport about it.

He and Bandit are very good friends, though they can get competitive over important things like yard work and pizza ovens.

Pat is famous around town for his loud singing and his old-school rules on how to best play ‘pass the parcel’.[1]

Appearance

Pat is a Labrador Retriever with yellow and light-yellow fur. He has yellow feet, legs, tail, torso, hands, arms, head, eyebrows and ears, and light-yellow muzzle and chest hairs. He also has a black nose and is sometimes seen with a brown, light brown and brownish-pink coffee cup.

Biography

Pat is the father of Lucky and Chucky, and the husband of Janelle. He is friends with Bandit and Stripe Heeler. He is the next-door neighbour of the Heeler family who often gets dragged into their games. Pat is an avid enjoyer of many a sport, ranging from the rough and tumble nature of Aussie rules football (he supports the Queensland Maroons and would pop on over to the Heeler household to watch games together), to the down and out of the cricket pitch (he also watches the sport if not playing).

Pat grew up on a Sorghum farm.[2]

Personality

Pat is a loving husband and father who is shown to exhibit high amounts of patience. He is a pretty good sport about taking part in his neighbours' games, especially considering the levels to which the Heelers sometimes go. His relationship with the Heeler brothers is usually cordial, though he also enjoys teasing them. Pat and his mates have some common dislikes, such as not liking getting their nails painted by the Heeler girls.[3]

While he loves his wife overall, he and Janelle don't always see eye to eye. In particular their support for rival sports teams is occasionally a cause for (mostly) good-natured antagonism. Pat was also, at least briefly, in disagreement with Janelle over children's games that rewarded all participants. His view was that such an approach was equivalent to "raising a nation of squibs." His attitude softened somewhat, however, following a rather disastrous attempt to enforce his viewpoint at one of Chucky's birthday parties. Pat, having witnessed the children's upset and parents' anger at his actions, modified his attitude. Curiously enough, the children would eventually come to appreciate what came to be known as "Lucky’s Dad’s Rules".[4]
