Script

The episode opens on a shot of the Gold Coast beach outside Nana Chris' condo. It's a sunny afternoon, and dogs are out enjoying the beach.

Cut to the interior of Nana Chris' condo. Bluey and Bingo are stacking blocks on the living room rug. Nana enters, holding a packet of ruled writing paper.

Chris: "Look at this, girls."

Bluey, Bingo: "What is it?"

Nana turns the packet around, showing the cover. It shows a child's drawing of Bandit.

Chris: "It's a letter. It was written by your daddy for school when he was just a little boy."

Bluey, Bingo: "Ooh!"

Chris walks over to the couch and sits down.

Chris: "I've saved it all these years. Would you like me to read it?"

Bluey and Bingo wag their tails.

Bluey, Bingo: "Yes, please!"

Bluey and Bingo hop up on the couch on either side of Chris.

Chris: "Okay. Here we go."

Cut to a close up Chris holding the packet. The stained cover page has a marker drawing of Bandit, with the title:

My name is Bandit Heller

Chris: "'My name is Bandit Heller.' Oh, he's spelled Heeler wrong."

Cut to a shot of Bluey, Chris, and Bingo sitting on the couch. Bluey and Bingo laugh. Chris turns the page.

Chris: "'I am fiv years old.'"

Chris adjusts her reading glasses and squints at the page.

Chris: "I think he means five years old."

Bluey and Bingo laugh.

Chris: "Your daddy wasn't a very good speller, was he?"

Cut to a close-up of the next page, showing a marker drawing of a skateboard. The page reads:

For my bathday my my mum bogort me a skatboard. The clower of my skatboard was Gren.

Chris: "'For my bath-day, my mum bo-gort me a skat-board.'"

Cut back to the couch. Bluey and Bingo laugh as Chris continues to read.

Chris: "'The clower of my skatboard is... gren?'"

Bluey and Bingo laugh.

Chris: "I think he means the colour of his skateboard was green."

Cut to a close-up of the next page. A marker drawing shows Bandit riding his skateboard down a strip of asphalt. The page reads:

I ride my skatboard on the drivway after skol.

Chris: "'I ride my skat-board on the driv-way after skol.'"

Cut back to the couch. Bluey and Bingo laugh.

Chris: "Oh, Bandy, that's not even close to how you spell 'school.'"

Chris adjusts her glasses and continues reading.

Chris: "'I have a brid.' A brid? What's he on about? 'My brid's nam is Conan.' Oh, he's talking about his bird."

Bluey and Bingo laugh. Chris turns the page.

Cut to a close-up of the next page. It shows a marker drawing of a budgerigar. The page reads:

I fed Conan everyeye day. His winks are Gren and Bloooo and his bek is yillow.

Chris: "'I fed Conan evr-eye day. His winks are gren and bloooo and his bek is yillow.'"

Cut back to the couch. Bluey and Bingo are laughing.

Chris: "What? I think his wings are green and blue, and his beak is yellow. Or his back."

Bluey and Bingo laugh again. Chris turns the page.

Cut to a close-up of the next page. It shows a marker drawing of Rad. The page reads:

My browther is keld Rad.

Chris: "'My brow-ther is keld Rad.'"

Pan to the facing page. This page shows a marker drawing of Stripe. The page reads:

My otter browther is keld Strip.Strip is good and so is Rad but Rad is good too.

Chris: "'My otter browther is keld Strip.'"

Cut back to the couch. Bluey and Bingo are laughing.

Chris: "'Strip is good and so is Rad, but Rad is good too.' What's he on about?"

She turns the page. Cut to a close-up of the next page. A marker drawing shows a youth football game. Rad, in a red jersey, has the ball, and is advancing it against two children in blue jerseys. Rad looks behind him, worriedly, at Bob, who is standing on the sidelines, yelling. The parents of the other players are seated, cheering normally. The page reads:

My Dad is good but he shorts at Rad when Rad plays fotty.

Chris: "'My dad is good, but he shorts at Rad when Rad plays fotty.'"

Cut back to the couch. Bluey and Bingo are laughing.

Chris: "Oh, he shouts at Rad when Rad plays footy. Oh, yeah, he did."

Bluey and Bingo laugh as Chris turns the page.

Cut to a close-up of the next page. A marker drawing shows Bandit hugging Chris, who has a huge perm. The page reads:

I     loave my mum. She is the bast Mum in the wahol worl.

Chris: "'I loave my mum.'"

Cut back to the living room.

Bluey, Chris, Bingo: "Awww..."

Chris: "'She is the bast mum in the wahol worl.'"

Bluey and Bingo laugh. Chris turns the page.

Cut to a close-up of the next page. A marker drawing shows Bandit, vomiting explosively next to a serving of lasagna. The lasagna is surrounded by stink lines and flies. The page reads:

But I don lick the food she corks. It tasts disgarsting. Especkialy her lazarniya. It is lak etting vommm-it.

Chris: "'But I don lick the food she corks.'"

Cut back to the living room. Bluey and Bingo are laughing.

Chris: "'It tasts dis-gar-sting.'"

Bluey and Bingo laugh.

Chris: "'Ex-speck-ilally her la-zaaaaar-niya. It is like etting vomit.'"

Bluey and Bingo laugh.

Chris: "What? Oh..."

She resumes reading.

Chris: "'The And.'"

She closes the packet.

Chris: "Oh, Bandy."

Cut to a wider view of the living room. Bandit walks in.

Bandit: "I'm back!"

Bluey and Bingo laugh and squeal.

Chris: "You staying for dinner, Bandy? I'm maying my lazaaaaanya."

Bluey and Bingo laugh.

Bandit: "Oh... great."
