Biography
Indy is best friends with Coco and she is friends with most of the students in Calypso’s school. She has a mum, a sister[1], and also a father.[2]
During a day at school, Indy joined Coco and Chloe in pretending to be new mothers living together in an overcrowded home. Indy noted that she would likely have to move out, and Calypso pointed out Bluey’s pretend fish and chip shop nearby. Rusty would later, after a comment made by Calypso, offer to let Indy and her doll Polly rent the top room of his house. In order to pay for this, Indy got a waitress job at the shop, leaving Polly in Rusty’s care while she worked. She then persuaded the Terriers to put in a large order for chips, though the Terriers would have to act to prevent an overloaded Indy from trampling Honey’s gnome village.[3]
Indy later visited Bluey's house along with several other friends, who took part in a game of Doctor. In her role, Indy acted the part of a woman whose arms had fallen off while she was hanging up her washing.[4] She and Bluey later met at the markets, and attempted to find an activity that they could both enjoy using Bluey’s tooth fairy money. However, their limited funds and Indy’s dietary restrictions prevented them from enjoying a number of experiences, and Bluey eventually bought a toffee apple on an impulse that Indy couldn’t share. Fortunately, the pair later received Bluey’s money again after a series of transactions, and were able to put it in the guitar case of a busker performing at the markets.[5]
On another day at school, Indy took part in a game in which Bluey and Honey were helping to deliver babies. Indy made a specific request to have an early baby, based on an experience from her own family life. Indy named her baby Polly, and gave her doctors detailed instructions on how she was to be cared for and what Indy herself would have to do. Unfortunately, Rusty-unaware of the game the girls were playing-picked up Polly for use in his own game with Snickers.
When Rusty, still carrying Polly, approached Bluey and Honey to ask for crutches, the girls were horrified. This led to a heated argument, which Calypso stepped in to mediate. Upon learning the details of their game, he apologized to Indy, who then invited him to join in. However, after hearing about Rusty’s game, Bluey and Honey decided to do their own, while Indy asked Rusty if he’d like to play Mums and Dads.[1]
At first, Indy and Rusty’s game went smoothly, but that came to an end when it came time for one the pair to go to work. Based on their own home experiences, Indy and Rusty had differing ideas about which parent would go to a job and which would stay at home. Calypso intervened in the argument and suggested that the pair play apart for a bit. Agreeing, both vowed never to play Mums and Dads with each other again.
In Calypso’s suggestion, Indy initially went to Mackenzie to see if he would play Mums and Dads. When he proved to be occupied with his own game, she approached Snickers, only for him to become involved in a game of tag. Indy then attempted to enlist Winton, who had no idea what he was supposed to do, and then one of the Terriers, who was already engaged in a game of castle.
By this point, Indy started to realize that Rusty hadn’t been such a bad playmate after all, and ran into him running away from Bluey. After helping him hide, Indy apologized for her earlier behavior, and she and Rusty agreed to play Mums and Dads again. Both were now open to the idea of either of them going out to work, and weren’t sure what to do. Fortunately, they then hit upon the idea of pretending it was the weekend, and settling happily back into their game.[2]
On another school day, Indy was pretending to be a naturalist attempting to save some kangaroos, played by the Terriers. They were able to convince Bluey to turn her game of helicopter into a game of plane; afterwards, Bluey surrendered the stump she’d been playing on to Indy.[6] Indy was also a guest at the birthday party of Bluey’s sister Bingo, though like the other guests she became distracted by her own activities.[7] On another school day, Indy was disappointed when her beeswax sculpture of a horse ended up resembling a cow. Fortunately, with help from Calypso and Winton, she was able to make up a story that helped her overcome her feelings of disappointment and self-doubt.[8]
On another day, Indy joined Chloe and Bluey in dressing up like fairies. They attempted to include Mackenzie in their game, but he was “rescued” by Rusty.[9] On still another day, Indy joined Chloe and Coco in a game of wild girls, but soon became interested in a game of farmers some of their classmates were playing. Fortunately, Indy was able to help a reluctant Coco bridge the two games, allowing everyone to have fun.[10]
Indy was one of the students present when Bluey made the startling announcement that she was moving. Upon hearing that she didn’t expect to see any of her friends again, Indy joined the class in a group hug and sad howl. Fortunately, Calypso was able to offer the group some reassurance. Even more fortunately, at the end of The Sign, Bluey ended up not moving away after all.[11]

Trivia
- She is not allowed to eat wheat/gluten, sugar, salt, dairy, or food with added ingredients (like prepackaged tomato sauce, barbecue sauce and mustard), whether it be due to her allergies, her religion, her tradition or her family's basic diet.
- The updated bluey.tv site mentions that Indy does have a regimented diet.
- Interestingly, Afghan hounds are notorious for having allergies.
- She is seen with longer hair in some episodes, but the studio shortened her hair to make it easier to animate.
- When she had longer hair, she could be seen with green, blue, yellow, and pink hair rings.
- Her name could be a reference to indie culture or music, or short for something (such as Indiana - as in the American state and the dog from Indiana Jones, also Jones' short-form nickname).
- She is the closest thing to a clothed character in the show, the other characters going either bare-furred or with simple accoutrements such as hair clips or, in Calypso's case, a scarf.
