Bluey.tv Description

Frisky is Bluey’s godmother and a good friend of Chilli’s. This means that she’s just like family and Bluey and Bingo sometimes affectionately call her “Aunt Frisky”. She’s a lover of tropical holidays, juice bars, and having a “think” at her favourite city lookout.

Frisky is an English cocker spaniel and she keeps her soft hair looking healthy with almond milk shampoo – just like Uncle Rad. Frisky and Rad met while double-babysitting Bluey and Bingo and have since become a couple.

She adores Bluey and Bingo and they all love playtime together. Frisky is a good role model who can offer a level-headed perspective when the rest of the Heeler family gets a bit crazy.

Although it’s not the smoothest road down the aisle, with the help of some guiding words from Chilli and a sign from one lucky little butterfly, Frisky and Uncle Rad tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the Heeler’s back yard.

Biography

The Sign-88

Frisky and I used to come up here as teenagers to, um, think.

A member of the Heeler family, Frisky Heeler is the wife of Radley, the co-sister-in-law of Chilli, and the aunt of Bluey, Bingo, Muffin and Socks.

Frisky has been a friend of Chilli at least since the two were teenagers and would regularly hang out in a local lookout. She was also one of the guests at Chilli and Bandit's wedding, which is where she first encountered Radley Heeler, Bandit’s brother, who she would later recall fell into the pool. Frisky would later become godmother to Bluey, and was affectionately referred to as “Aunt” by both her and Bingo. At some point, Frisky had a boyfriend named Bosco, but they broke up under unknown circumstances.

Uncle Rad and Frisky

Two babysitters!

Some time after the breakup, Frisky arrived at the Heeler family home to babysit Bluey and Bingo. Upon arriving, however, she was surprised to find Rad, who was similarly surprised by her arrival. After being reintroduced, the pair learned that Chilli had supposedly sent Frisky a message letting her know that she didn’t need to come babysit. Frisky had received no such message but was prepared to leave, only for the girls to plead with her to stay. With Rad’s consent, Frisky agreed to stay and babysit the girls with him.

Frisky- "Ummm.."

An awkward situation.

Trying to help Bluey, who was uncomfortable with the idea of a babysitter putdown, Frisky and Rad decided to play twenty questions. During the game, Frisky and Rad discovered that they both used almond milk shampoo and both hoped to have children. Unfortunately, both also suffered some embarrassment, with Frisky admitting to only having three friends. When the matter of her failed relationship with Bosco came up, Frisky struggled to explain it to the girls. Rad came to her rescue by suggesting they play some games in the backyard.

When Rad found himself baffled at the games Bandit and Chilli usually played with the girls, Frisky jumped in to suggest a new game: torch mouse. She and Rad then took on the role of cats, pursuing the point of light made by Rad’s keychain flashlight. Later, Frisky helped Bingo brush her teeth, and tried to hold her up to the ceiling as Rad did with Bluey. However, Bingo proved a bit too heavy for Frisky to hold up for long.

Radley's right - this princess IS hard to rescue.

Afterwards, the two told a story in which "Prince” Rad attempted to save “Princess” Frisky from a dragon’s tower. However, Frisky was not particularly interested in being "saved”, much to Rad’s consternation and the girls’ amusement. Eventually, after some more banter and the girls’ pleading, Frisky agreed that the prince and princess got married. Bingo soon fell asleep, but Bluey remained reluctant to go to bed.

Uncle Rad and Aunt Frisky chatting

Across the stars.

With some prompting, Frisky and Rad discovered that Bluey’s last babysitter putdown had gone badly. Aided by Rad, Frisky encouraged Bluey not to give up because of one bad experience. Bluey agreed to try, and Frisky lay on the floor by her bed and held her hand as she went to sleep. Taking her own advice, Frisky enjoyed a quiet conversation with Rad on the porch outside, not noticing when Bluey awoke briefly, overheard them, and happily went back to bed.[3]

On holiday!

Some time later, Rad and Frisky went on a trip together for Christmas, visiting a location with a pool. The trip led to them being away while the rest of the Heeler family were together for Christmas. As such, they made a video call to them, with Frisky soon noticing Bluey’s absence. Chilli brought the tablet to Bluey, allowing Frisky to chat with her. Bluey explained that her new toy Bartlebee was having a rough first Christmas with her family.

RadFriskyTalking

A miracle in the making.

Speaking to Bartleby, Frisky explained that she was also having her first Heeler Christmas. As Rad leaped with a yell into the pool behind her, Frisky admitted that the Heelers could be "crazy”. While Rad playfully pretended to take offense, Frisky was quick to add that the Heelers were also "full of love.” She thus encouraged Bartleby to give them a chance, with Rad pulling her into a one-armed hug as she did so.[4]

Frisky later got tickets to a rugby game and invited Chilli and Trixie to attend with her. The three promised to wave to Bingo, who was watching from home. The three ended up appearing on screen and were able to wave to Bingo after the final play of the game.[5]

"I do."

Some time after that, Radley proposed to Frisky, who accepted. However, while setting up the wedding, she overheard that Radley wanted her to move west with him but had not discussed it with her, causing her to call off the wedding and drive off. She ended up heading to the lookout, where she remained adamant about the wedding being off. Soon, Chilli revealed that she did not want to move either, and Frisky realised she made a mistake. Just then, Radley appeared, knowing she would be here. They managed to make up with each other, and the wedding was back on.

Staying Here

WE'RE STAYIN' HERE!

At the reception, Rad and Frisky revealed that they'll be staying in the city to be close with the family, much to everyone's happiness and Chilli and Bandit's shock. Bluey was happy that Frisky finally got her happy ending, and they danced the night away.[6]

Appearance

Frisky is a English Cocker Spaniel[7][8] with white, cream, and orange fur. She has short hair with long ears pulled into a ponytail, which is held back with a blue band. Her hands, feet, eyebrows, the bottom section of her tail, the ends of her hair, and most of her body are white. The middle section of her hair, the upper sections of her arms and legs, the outer top section of her tail, the fur around her eyes and a spot on her back are cream. The top section of her hair, the inner top section of her tail, a spot on her back, and the middle sections of her arms and legs are orange.

Personality

Torch mouse

Frisky living up to her name.

True to her name, Frisky is lively and high-spirited. She is friendly towards the Heeler family (including Rad Heeler, even upon first meeting) and goes along with Bluey and Bingo's ideas. She is generally upbeat and emotionally intelligent, listening to Bluey's uncertainty about babysitter put-downs and trying to alleviate her fears. She's implied to be a bit introverted and is pretty comfortable sticking to her friend group of three. Additionally, she is quite the sports fanatic; she is a fan of rugby, even once inviting her sisters-in-law to watching a game live. Overall, Frisky is a good role model who can offer a level-headed perspective when the rest of the Heeler family gets slightly demented.

Trivia

  • Early in the episode Double Babysitter, she claims that she has three friends. In The Sign, one named Cookie is possibly one of them, given how she and Chilli communicate about her.
    • It is possible that she is the only other woman (alongside Chilli and Trixie) to have her photo taken with Frisky at the wedding and later with Rad and Frisky's families. However, it's later confirmed that she isn't.
      • Since the particular photos show Frisky with Trixie and Chilli (her sisters-in-law) and both her and Rad's families, it could be indicated that the fourth person is also Frisky's sister-in-law, likely through her natal family.
  • She is one of the few known characters with hair in the series, including Indy, Indy's Mum, her husband Radley, Digger, Dusty, and Rusty's Mum.
    • Much like Dusty, Radley, Rusty's Mum, and Indy's Mum, she has blonde hair.
  • Frisky's "hair" is her ears tied up. A practice not recommended, but often done for Cocker Spaniels.
  • Frisky's car seems to be a Blue Renault Clio.
  • Radley and Frisky's relationship develops through the course of the series.
    • In the episode Double Babysitter, she mentions that she had an ex named Bosco, but he never appeared in any episode. The episode also reveals that, like Radley, she uses almond milk shampoo and wants to have children.
    • As of Christmas Swim, Rad and Frisky may be engaged. The overhauled Bluey website mentioned that she and Rad are currently a couple.
      • In an interview with Gotta Be Done,[9] Joe Brumm stated:

"A wedding hasn't happened between Rad and Frisky. But, I think, Christmas Swim, yeah, the idea is that the relationship's started, maybe they're engaged. And I love the idea of caricaturing an Australian wedding from the kid's point of view. [...] I'd like to try that.

    • Finally, her wedding with Radley is the subject of The Sign.
      • With her marriage to Radley, Frisky, being an English Cocker Spaniel, is the first member of the Heeler family to not be an Australian Cattle Dog.
  • A family tree provided by Disney Junior posted before The Sign's release lists her name as "Frisky Heeler". This implied that she and Rad were going to get married in the future, The Sign's release showed that the marriage is the main role of the episode.
  • In The Decider, it is revealed that Frisky is a fan of rugby, having bought tickets for herself, Chilli and Trixie to watch the big game.
    • The aforementioned episode had led to many fans believing that Frisky is pregnant, as when the Jumbo-tron reveals her with Chili and Trixie, Frisky holds her belly for a brief moment the way many pregnant women do and then is the only one not to stand to wave at the camera; instead, she continues to sit and waves with both hands, as if it would be too much effort to stand. However, this has since been contradicted[10], unless The Decider takes place after The Sign.
  • She is the only member of the Heeler family who is not a Heeler, but rather a Cocker Spaniel
