After dinner and bedtime, Mum comes home to find the whole family happy and snoozing.
When Mum goes out to a baby shower, Dad takes charge of the girls’ evening routine. But with Bluey missing Mum, Dad has to pull out all the games he knows to keep them entertained.[1]
Episode Recap
Chilli is heading out to a Baby Shower for the night, leaving Bandit to do dinner and put the kids to bed. As she leaves Bluey asks her not to go as she’ll miss her.
To distract the girls from missing Chilli, Bandit pulls out a repertoire of games.
First is ‘Follow the Leader’ where the girls actually DON’T follow the leader, resulting in many hysterical fits of giggles. Then it’s onto the swing to play ‘Come Here’ and Go Away’ which even makes me giggle every time I see it.
However, Bluey is still missing Mum and begs Dad to ring her (again). Bandit pulls out the old “I’m calling her..... It’s ringing....” trick.
Bandit pretends to not know what a baby shower is (showering a dirty baby). As the girls explain it to him, Bluey gets the idea for her own game (much to Bandits visible relief). Short-lived relief though as Bingo asks her favorite “How does a baby get in there?” question before being distracted by a swing twirl.
Bluey sets up a baby shower with her toys and Bingo reprises her role as Snowdrop the Toddler while Bluey, playing the Mum, re-enacts the earlier events and kisses her goodbye.
The game successfully keeps Bluey distracted - playing games like guess the sex. I was however, waiting for the pregnant-lady-obstacle-course Bingo suggested and will definitely be implementing that at any future baby showers.
Dad and Bingo make tempura battered prawns for dinner, and by the time it’s ready, everyone is happy.
Mum arrives home later that night to kiss the girls good night (and Bluey's faint smile shows us that she DID feel her goodnight kiss). Bandit is lying on the floor.

Trivia
- This episode was released April 1, 2019 on ABC iview.
- The BBC- and Disney-distributed versions of this episode cut the scene where Bingo asks Bandit "How does the baby get in the lady’s belly?"
- However, the original version was included on the Bluey: Seasons 1 & 2 DVD set in the US.
- The scene where Bandit plays with Bluey and Bingo by the swing, a ladybug can be seen twice, but the scene where the swing gets twisted, next scene the ladybug is nowhere to be seen. It appears again during the end credits of the episode.
- The "Follow the Leader" song Bandit sings is based on the song "Funiculì, Funiculà." Contrary to popular belief, the song is not an Italian folk song. It was written in 1880 by Luigi Denza and Peppino Turco to commemorate the opening of the first funicular railway to the top of Mt. Vesuvius. The railway was destroyed when Vesuvius, an active volcano, erupted in March 1944.
- Long Dog: Like the previous two episodes, it once again appears on the fridge.
- This is the most times the magnet long dog has appeared in consecutive episodes.
- When this episode aired on Disney Channel in the US, it was paired with Early Baby and Hospital.
