Cornelius is a secondary character that has appeared in multiple episodes of Bluey.

Winton’s Dad is an English Bulldog who’s a sporter of bumbags, seller of toffee apples, eater of German sausages; and a hopeless romantic.Separated from Winton’s Mum, he’s on the lookout for love, and can often be spotted taking various ladies out on dates around town. Nothing too flashy, mind; he likes getting to know them over a walk to get ice-cream, or a simple park bench chat.

For one reason or another, things don’t seem to work out for Winton’s Dad in the love department…That is until he bumps into the Terrier’s Mum in the chemist. With the help of some body spray and a spritz of breath freshener, the two hit it off!

Appearance

Cornelius is an English Bulldog[1] with white, brown, dark brown and light brown fur. He has white feet, left leg, hands, chest and muzzle, brown right leg, tail, torso, arms and right head, dark brown eyebrows and ears and light brown left head. He also wears a green fanny pack when he sells toffee apples at the market.

Biography

Cornelius has a son named Winton; he and Winton’s Mum are apparently divorced. Currently, he is in a relationship with the Terriers' Mum, and has currently sold his house to move in with them.

  • He is voiced by the show’s designer Jake Bresanello.
  • In Helicopter, Winton mentions that his dad doesn't live with his mum. It can be inferred that Cornelius is most likely divorced.
    • In TV Shop, his car has decals showing a mother, father and child. The mother's decal is scratched off.
      • The mother's decal being scratched off may indicate that the divorce was recent and/or not very friendly.
  • In Movies, a picture with him as an actor in a detective film was seen.
  • Since Hammerbarn, Cornelius is seen in various cameos with a sausage on a bread on one hand.
  • Through out season two and season three, it's revealed to see Cornelius looking for a new love after his divorce[2]:
    • In Café, Cornelius is seen sitting at a table at the park with a female white dog, suggesting they’re on a date.
    • In The Quiet Game, Cornelius seems to be dating someone. This is the first depiction of a confirmed mixed-breed couple in Bluey.
    • In Perfect, Cornelius is seen sitting by a tree with a sad look, possibly suggesting that he and his girlfriend broke up.
    • In TV Shop, throughout the episode, it's revealed that Cornelius has a crush on the Terriers' mum, with them sharing a look and a smile when they come get their respective children and how he sprays his mouth with breath spray before going to talk with her.
      • In The Sign, Cornelius' relationship with the Terriers' mum seems to have advanced. Early in the episode, one of the Terriers tells Winton that their parents are romantically interested. At the end of the episode, Cornelius is shown putting his house up for sale, then hugging the Terriers' mum, while Winton and the Terriers wait in her car - implying that they are moving in together.
  • Cornelius' only speaking role is in Markets.
  • His name was revealed by Costa Kassab in Behind Bluey episode 8[3].
