Brandy Cattle (also known as Aunty Brandy by Bluey and Bingo) is a secondary character in Bluey. Being first pictured in Obstacle Course, she makes her first physical appearance in her focus episode, Onesies. She is Chilli's older sister and the eldest daughter of Mort and his late wife. She is thus sister-in-law to Bandit Heeler and maternal aunt to Bluey and Bingo Heeler.

Brandy is a cattle dog and she is also known as Aunty Brandy by Bluey and Bingo. She is the older sister of Chilli, the sister-in-law of Bandit, and the maternal aunt of Bluey and Bingo.

After drifting apart from Chilli for a few years, as siblings sometimes do, she is happy to have reconnected with her little sister – and has lots to catch up on with her wonderful nieces too!

Always fun to be around, Aunty Brandy even taught Bluey and Bingo the dance that she and Chilli made up when they were little!

Biography

Brandy is Chilli's older sister and the eldest daughter of Mort and his late wife. She is thus sister-in-law to Bandit Heeler and maternal aunt to Bluey and Bingo Heeler.

Her family would go on vacation at a caravan park when she and her sister were little. She and her sister Chilli would also entertain their mother with a dance they made up. At some point either after Bluey or Bingo was born, Brandy distanced herself due to the grief of her sister being able to grow a family while she herself had fertility issues. Brandy's decision caused the two to have an anger-fueled argument. The fight ended in them not speaking to each other for four years, until Chilli eventually found the courage to call her, which lead to them reuniting.

Brandy came to visit Chilli's family and was surprised to see that Bingo bore a strong resemblance to her. She then presented the girls with onesies she had bought. Unfortunately, her long absence from her nieces' lives led her to get Bluey a onesie based on a zebra, her former favorite animal, instead of a cheetah, her current favorite animal. Bingo thus ended up with the smaller cheetah onesie and began to terrorize Brandy and her other relatives by taking on the animals' persona.

After a conversation with Bluey about the onesies, Brandy decided that the visit had been a mistake and prepared to leave. However, she was then "attacked" by Bingo, with whom she enjoyed a rough-and-tumble game as Chilli and Bluey fled. As this was occurring, Chilli tried to explain Brandy's difficulties to Bluey, and Brandy was left lying forlornly on the grass after Bingo ran off. Later, she tried to warn Bluey and Chilli about cheetah Bingo, only for Chilli to be attacked as well and end up lying next to her.

While the girls continued their game, the sisters spoke further, and Brandy apologized for her lengthy absence. However, she was left hopeful, after her time with her family, that things would turn out all right for her. They then went to Bluey's aid by performing the dance they had made up for their mum. This soon attracted Bluey and Bingo, and all four joined in the fun together.

Brandy later attended the wedding of Bandit's brother Radley Heeler to Frisky, which was held at Bandit and Chilli's house. At this time she was seen to be several months pregnant. Brandy joined the women and girls who attempted to catch Frisky’s bouquet. She later sat at a table with her sister, Bandit, Bandit’s brother Stripe and his wife Trixie. She also took part in the dancing in spite of her enlarged belly.

Appearance

Brandy is a Red Heeler with an orange-and-cream spotted coat and a dark brown nose. She has light-cream-colored fur on her hands, right foot, left outer ear, left leg, eyebrows, muzzle, forehead, belly, and on certain parts of her tail. The fur on her right leg, left foot, and the rest of her body is a light orange, with dark orange fur on her right ear, both sides of her head, a spot on her back, and a spot on her tail.

Personality

Brandy is as big-hearted and fun-loving as her sister and nieces. She eagerly plays along with Bluey and Bingo's game and, like Chilli and Bandit, commits to the bit, even if she doesn't really understand what's happening. She's very compassionate and caring, gifting animal-themed onesies to her nieces.

Brandy suffers from the grief of being unable to have children of her own, which has left her deeply affected emotionally. This led to her having an argument with her sister and being visibly nervous and shaken around Bluey and Bingo. Both points contributed to her estranging herself from her family for four years as seeing her sister with her two little puppies was too much to bear. Despite this, she's eager to reconnect with them.

Despite not having any children of her own, Brandy views her nieces as hers and loves them powerfully, yet, nothing can quite compare to having a baby of her own. While it's implied that Brandy was envious of Chilli being able to grow a family, unlike her, she holds no resentment towards her and is very happy to see her. Brandy also shows concern for other members of her family, worrying about her brother-in-law Bandit after he's been "eaten" by Bingo.

Between the lines, Brandy distancing herself from her family due to her sadness implies that she values mental health. She's also implied to have a creative side, creating a dance with her sister as a gift for their mother's birthday.

• In Bluey's Big Play, it is revealed Bluey was unaware she had an aunt on her mum's side of the family.
• A younger version of Brandy can be seen pictured in Obstacle Course and Promises.
  • The younger version of Brandy has a slightly different fur pattern, complete with light orange, brown and cream fur, cream feet, hands, eyebrows, back spots, right side of the body and head, a strip in her shoulders, right arm and tail end, light orange back, knees, start of the tail, inner ears and forehead, and brown left side of the head and outer ears.
• Prior to Onesies, Brandy and her sister hadn't met face-to-face in four years.
• Throughout the episode Onesies, it is heavily implied that Brandy has fertility problems, meaning that she may not be able to have children of her own, which may have caused her and Chilli's argument prior to Bluey's Big Play. However, Brandy achieves pregnancy in The Sign.
• Brandy having fertility issues is commonly believed to be a reference to the Red Heeler breed, since they commonly have this as well in real life. It is particularly common in Australian Cattle dogs.
• For a long time, her last name only appeared in secondary sources - a movie poster for Onesies done by Nick Rees (a lead background artist for the show), and a family tree provided by Disney Junior. It has since been confirmed in her biography on the official website.
  • The name "Cattle" is a reference to the Australian Cattle Dog, the official name of the breed often called a Heeler.

• She's voiced by Rose Byrne, who is best known for portraying Bea and voicing Jemima Puddle-Duck in the Peter Rabbit live-action film series, along with Helen in Bridesmaids.
