Grandpa Bob, or “Bobba” as the kids sometimes call him, is Bandit’s dad.

He is retired and lives with Nana Chris at an apartment on the Gold Coast. He enjoys going to the beach and acting silly around the house.

Bob can be forgetful sometimes and in the 80s flashback episode “Fairytale” he struggles with the kids’ names. Still, Bob is a fun grandpa and can floss with the best of them.

After a pilgrimage of self discovery to India, Bobba reunites with the rest of the Heeler family at the wedding of Uncle Rad and Frisky having finally ‘found himself’.

"Bluey & Bingo’s Grandad."

Biography

Bob is the husband of Chris (Nana), the dad of Bandit, Stripe, and Rad, the father-in-law of Chilli, Trixie, and Frisky, and the grandpa of Bluey, Bingo, Muffin and Socks.

When his boys were young, Bob would occasionally become annoyed with their rowdy behavior. During a holiday at a campground, while trying to work with Rad and Stripe seeing ho can yell the loudest next to him, he became so frustrated on that he couldn't remember Bandit's name while talking to him at that moment. Upon learning that Bandit had been jinxed, Bob not only refused to free him by saying his name, but joking said he wished that he wished he could silence his other two sons.[1]

Bob is shown to be an avid fan of football, he would often shout at Rad whenever he played on a football match.[2]

On another occasion, Bob reacted to his sons' constant fighting over their Power Bloke action figure by threatening to take it away. In response, the brothers buried it at a nearby creek.[3]

After becoming a grandfather for the fourth time, Bob posed for at least one photograph with his granddaughters, their parents, his wife, and his then single son Radley.[4] He would also be present when Bluey and Bingo video called Chris, wanting to know if she knew how to do the floss dance. Bob joined in Chris' attempts, though he ended up knocking over the device she was using for the call and causing it to hang up. Later, he and Chris both learned how to floss from Bluey in another video call and showed off their skills to a delighted Bingo.[5]

During one occasion where Muffin and Socks were visiting Bandit's family, Chilli had the girls record phone messages to send to him.[6] There would also be a period during which Bingo, at least, was unaware of Bob's whereabouts. One night at bedtime, while wishing various absent friends good night, she included Bob and added "wherever you are."[7]

It would later turn out that Bob was in India, trying to "find himself." He returned in time to attend Rad's wedding to Frisky.[8]

Appearance

Bob is a Blue Heeler with white, grey, black, dark grey and brown fur. He has white feet, hands, chest, muzzle and eyebrows, grey legs, leg spots, arms, torso, tail tip and head spots, dark grey leg splotches, leg spots, tail stem and right head, black outer ears, and brown leg spots, head spots, left head and inner ears. He also has a black nose, beard whiskers on his muzzle and has a notched left ear.

In his younger years (during the 80s), his grey fur used to be blue and his dark grey and brown (on his head) fur used be black, similar to his son Bandit. His left ear also used to be whole as well.

Personality

When his boys were young during the 80's, Bob (on at least two occasions), though loving and hard-working, demonstrated annoyance or a short temper with regards to their rowdy behavior. He became so flustered on one occasion that he temporarily forgot Bandit’s name. Upon learning that his middle son had been jinxed, not only did he refuse to say Bandit’s name so he could talk again, but he also teasingly questioned how he could enforce silence upon his other sons as well.

On another occasion, Bob grew so frustrated with the boys fighting over one of their toys that he threatened to take it away from them.

In his advanced years, Bob seems to have mellowed out, or else displays his more jovial side. He seems to enjoy playfully teasing his wife and dancing for his own amusement as well as that of his grandchildren. Like his wife, he was both willing and able to learn the floss dance. He is also well-loved by his grandchildren, who enjoyed recording phone messages to send him and, in one instance, remembered him as they were getting ready for bed. Bob was also seen to become highly emotional during Rad's wedding.

Bob is also a passionate sports fan, and seems to have passed this enthusiasm on to most if not all of his sons.
