Script

The episode opens outside Bingo's kindergarten school, with Bandit and some other parents standing outside. Missy and Bentley answer the door.

Missy: "Please come in."

Cut to the interior of the school. Buddy, Jasper W., Jasper G., Missy, Sadie, Harley, Juniper, Bino, and Bentley sit in a circle on the floor with Mrs. Retriever. They're playing a clapping game.

Mrs. Retriever: "Oh, your dad's here, Bingo!"

Bingo stands up and runs off towards Bandit, holding a puppet in her right hand.

Bingo: "Dad!"

Bandit: "Bingo!"

Bandit crouches down, and Bingo jumps into his arms, giving him a big hug.

Bandit: (chuckles) "That was a hard one."

Bingo: "Dad! Dad! Exciting news!"

Bandit: "What's that?"

Bingo presents the puppet to Bandit, a purple bilby.

Bingo: "It's my turn to bring Bob Bilby home!"

Bandit: "Oh wow."

Bingo: "He's a bilby and his name is Bob. Bob, this is my Dad."

Bingo folds the puppet's ears down and whispers to her dad.

Bingo: "He's not actually real, he's a puppet. But you have to fold his ears down when you say that."

Bandit shakes the puppet's hand.

Bandit: "Oh, okay. Hi Bob, nice to meet you. Well, let's you get back home and show you around."

Bingo giggles and runs off. Bandit turns to leave, only to find Buddy staring at him. They both look at each other awkwardly for a moment.

TITLE CARD - Bob Bilby

Bingo: [voiceover] "This episode of Bluey is called: Bob Bilby."

Cut to the front of the Heelers' house.

Bluey: (offscreen) "I took Bob Bilby home when I was at kindy."

Cut to the dining room table. Bandit, Bingo, Chilli, and Bluey have gathered around a photo album. Bingo holds Bob Bilby up so he can see. Bandit is eating a sausage roll.

Chilli: "Do you remember that, Bingo?"

Bingo: "Um, ah, yeah I think so."

Bluey: "Bob stays with us for the weekend. And we take photos of all the fun stuff we get up to, and then we stick them in the Bob Bilby book."

Cut to a close-up of the photo album. Jasper W. stands in front of his house, looking excited and holding up the Bob Bilby puppet.

Bingo: "This is Bob at Jasper W's house.

Cut to a photo of Harley, wearing a gi. She has Bob Bilby making a martial arts pose and wearing a yellow belt.

Bingo: And this is with Harley."

Chilli: "Oh, you did a bit of karate, Bob?

Bob does a few karate chops in the air.

Chilli: "Oh, whack-a-doo. I won't be messing with you."

Cut to a photo of Bob, standing proudly in front of a lake. An island in the lake holds a small castle.

Bingo: "And this is when he went on a holiday with Mrs. Terrier."

Pan over to another photo. Bob waves from the foreground. Behind him is a busker in a tartan kilt, playing the bagpipes.

Chilli: "Oh yes, she took Bob with her when she went to Scotland."

Bandit: "Wow, Bob, you've really been around. I hope we can show you a good time, too. What do you reckon, kids?"

Bingo, Bluey: "Yeah!"

Bob Bilby grabs Bandit's sausage roll and tries to wrestle it away from him. Chilli and the kids giggle.

Bandit: "Hey! That's mine! Let go!"

Bluey: "No, Bob, that's Dad's."

Bandit growls.

Chilli: "Careful, Dad, he knows karate!"

Cut to the playroom. Bandit is on all fours, with Bingo and Bob Bilby riding on his back. Bluey is holding the tablet, ready to take a picture.

Bluey: "Okay, I'll take the photo now. Come on, moo cow! Walk over here!"

Bandit: "Moo!"

Bandit slowly and painfully crawls towards Bluey.

Bandit: "Ah! Eee! Ah!"

He rolls his eyes as Bluey frames the photo.

Bandit: "Moo."

Bluey: "Okay, smile Bob!"

Bingo jumps onto Bandit's head as Bluey takes a photo.

Bandit: (strained) "Mooo."

Bingo: "Let me see!"

Bingo jumps off Bandit's back and runs over to Bluey. Bandit groans and collapses to his side. Bluey shows Bingo the photo and they giggle.

Bluey: "Bob, this is the tablet. You can take photos with it..."

Bluey demonstrates taking a photo.

Bluey: "...and watch cartoons..."

Bluey slides the tablet to a video of a yellow dog in front of a house.

Bluey: "...and play games!"

Bluey presses the home button on the tablet.

Bingo: "Let's show Bob that game where you give Santa's beard a haircut."

Bluey: "Yeah!"

Bluey opens the app and proceeds to shave Santa's beard as Bob and Bingo watch. Bandit starts looking at his phone while Chilli walks in holding her own phone, looking concerned.

Bandit: "Not too long on that, kids."

Chilli takes a photo of Bandit, Bluey, and Bingo. Cut to the Heeler family in the car.

Bingo, Bluey: (chanting) "Cartoons! Cartoons! Cartoons! Cartoons! Cartoons!"

Chilli: "Don't you wanna teach Bob some car games?"

Bluey and Bingo look at each other.

Bluey, Bingo: "CARTOOOONNNNS!"

Bandit digs in the center console, and comes up with the tablet.

Bandit: "Ah, alright. There you go."

He hands the tablet over to Bluey.

Bingo: "Yeaaahh!"

Bluey holds the tablet out so Bingo and Bob can see it."

Tablet: ♫ "Yeah, yeah, baby." ♫

The girls watch, entranced. Chilli takes out her phone and takes a photo. Cut to the entrance to a grocery store in a shopping centre. Bandit takes a cart.

Bandit: "Okay, who wants to be charge of the shopping list? Bob?"

The camera pans over to Bluey and Bingo, watching cartoons on the television display in a neighbouring storefront.

Television: ♫ "Yeah, yeah, baby." ♫

Mackenzie's Dad, Pat and Chloe's Mum (with her newborn baby in a stroller) can be seen walking past. In the background, a strangely red-coloured Stripe and Trixie can be seen looking into a store, talking about something.

Bluey: "Bob, this is Mixed-up Murphy, he's really funny."

Bingo: "Yeah, really funny."

The camera zooms out to show Chilli watching hockey on another display TV next to them. Bandit walks up behind them, takes out his phone, and takes two photos. Cut back to the car ride home.

Bingo, Bluey: (chanting) "Cartoons! Cartoons! Cartoons!"

Cut to an establishing shot of the Heelers' house, then to the living room. Bluey and Bingo lay on the rug, watching cartoons with Bob.

Tablet: ♫ "Yeah, yeah, baby." ♫

The camera pulls back, to show Bandit laying on the couch, staring at his phone.

Bandit: "Kids, it's enough of that thing, I'm sure Bob is sick of—"

Bluey, Bingo: "NOOOOOOOO!"

Bandit: "Yeah, whatever."

Chilli appears at the door to the sunroom, and takes a picture. Cut to the office. Chilli sits on the yoga ball, printing off photos. Cut to the back yard, where Bluey, Bingo, and Bob are sitting on the bench under the poinciana, watching cartoons on the tablet.

Tablet: ♫ "Yeah, yeah, baby." ♫

Chilli: (off screen) "Kids! I'm putting out photos in Bob Bilby's book!"

Bluey and Bingo run inside, leaving Bob to watch cartoons on the tablet alone.

Bluey, Bingo: "Cool, let us see!"

Cut to the kitchen table, where Chilli looks at the scrapbook, concerned. The kids run in, get onto chairs and excitedly look at the book. Cut to a close-up of the photo album. The first photo shows Bingo, Bob, Bluey, and Chilli watching the television display. It pans over to Bluey, Bingo, and Bob watching cartoons on the floor, as Bandit looks at his phone on the couch. It pans to a third photo, showing Bluey, Bingo, and Bob watching cartoons in the back seat. A fourth photo shows them playing the shaving Santa game on the flor of the playroom, as Bandit looks at his phone behind them.

Bluey: "These are just all of Bob watching cartoons!"

Bandit: "Oh wow."

Chilli: (sighing) "Yup."

Bingo moves the scrapbook closer.

Bluey: "He doesn't look like he's having much fun."

Chilli: "No, he doesn't, does he?"

Bingo starts to tear up. She gets up and looks out the window, and sees Bob Bilby watching cartoons in the garden. Bingo cries softly and runs off .

Chilli: "Oh, Bingo.."

Cut to the back yard. B ingo sits on the bench under the poinciana, hugging her knees and holding Bob Bilby. Chilli, Bandit and Bluey enter. Bluey is carrying the photo album. Chilli sits down on the bench next to Bingo.

Chilli: "Are you alright, Bingo?"

Bingo: "This is the most boring time Bob's had in the whole book."

Chilli: "No, that's not true, kiddo!"

Bluey: "Yeah, it is!"

Bingo begins to tear up again.

Bingo: "I'm the worst friend Bob's got. He's never going to want to visit again."

Chilli: "Aww..."

Bandit: "Okay, let's sort this out. What's the best move right now?"

The four contemplate on what to do next.

Bluey: "I know!"

Cut to the laundry room, where Bluey puts the tablet, Bandit's phone, and Chilli's phone in a laundry basket.

Bluey: "Bob just copies whatever it is we do! And we are only doing boring stuff!"

Bingo: "So all we need to do is really exciting stuff!"

Bluey: "Yes!"

Bingo: "But how are we going to take a photo without the tablets?"

Bandit: "Ah, leave that to me!"

Cut to the garage. Bluey, Bingo, and Bob watch Bandit rummage in a milk crate.

Bandit: "This is all my stuff from when I used to be cool!"

Bluey looks confused and shakes her head, while Bingo smiles and shrugs at Bluey.

Bandit: "Ah, here it is!"

Bandit pulls out a Polaroid instant camera.

Bluey, Bingo: "What is that?"

Bandit: "This is what a real camera looks like."

The garage door opens, revealing Chilli leaning confidently against a bike with a basket and a child seat. The camera zooms in on Chilli dramatically.

Chilli: (huskily) "Are you ready, Bob?"

Bob does a head-nod.

Bluey, Bingo: Woo!

A speechless Bandit snaps a picture with the camera. Cut to a first-person view of the bike going down the sidewalk. Cut to Bob Bilby, his ears flapping in the breeze. The camera pulls back to show Bingo, sitting in the seat on the back of Chilli's bike. She giggles.

The camera pulls back further, showing Chilli, Bluey, and Bandit. Bluey rides behind Chilli and Bingo on her own bike. Bandit rides a skateboard in the street behind them. He takes a picture.

Bluey, Bandit: "Yay!"

Bingo: "Eee!"

Chilli laughs. Cut to Bingo's first person view, at the top of a metal slide in a playground. She can see the back of Bob Bilby on her hand, and Bandit waits at the bottom of the slide with his camera. Cut to a side view, revealing the Bluey was right behind Bingo. They slide down the slide together, and Bandit takes a photo as the come off the bottom.

Cut to a face shot of Bob Bilby. His ears and hands blow in the wind as the background rapidly moves behind him. Cut to a wider shot, showing the Bingo is riding a spinner.

Bingo: "Whee!"

Cut to a shot of Bob, waving back and forth against the sky. Cut to a wider shot, showing Bingo riding a spring-mounted unicorn.

Bingo: "Wheeee! Hee hee!"

Cut to Bluey, standing on one leg, making a goofy face with her tongue out. She holds Bob Bilby up while Bingo takes a photo. Bob, still on Bluey's hand, waves the developing photo back and forth. The shot pulls back, to show Bluey and Bingo dancing around, waving more developing photos. They giggle and squeal.

Cut to a close-up of Bob Bilby, against the grass at night. Fireworks are reflected in his eyes. Cut to a wider shot, showing Bingo holding him up.

Bingo: "Ooh!"

Bingo and Bob Bilby look at each other. Cut to a shot from behind, Bluey, Bandit, and Chilli are right next to Bingo. Bandit puts his hands on Bluey and Chilli's backs. Chilli puts her hands on Bandit and Bingo's backs. Stripe (coloured correctly this time) and Trixie can be seen sitting nearby, watching the fireworks. The camera pans up to show the fireworks bursting in the sky over the Brisbane CBD skyline.

Cut to the dining room, where the family has gathered around the scrapbook again. Bandit puts in a photo, and then Chilli does the same. Bandit and Chilli nod at each other. We then fade to Bingo's kindy, where Bingo is showing her teacher and her classmates the photos from the scrapbook.

Bingo: "And this is Bob visiting Daddy's friend, Stevo."

Cut to a close-up of the photo album. The photos hows Bluey and Bingo sitting in the front seat of a fire engine, looking joyful. Bingo holds Bob Bilby up to the wheel.

Bingo: "He let Bob turn the siren on, but it was very loud."

Pan to another photo, showing Bob Bilby in front of a stack of books.

Bingo: "And this is Bob and I getting a book out of the library. The end."

Bingo closes the scrapbook. The whole class claps politely.

Mrs. Retriever: "Well, Bingo, it looks like Bob has had a wonderful time staying with you. Now, why don't you give Bob to Missy. It's her turn with him next."

Missy walks to Bingo take Bob and the scrapbook. Bingo gives them to Missy.

Bingo: "There you go, Bob."

Bob appears in front of Bingo, now under Missy's control.

Bingo: "Thanks for coing to visit me. I hope you'd like to visit me again."

Bob waves goodbye to Bingo.

Bingo: "Goodbye."

Missy leaves with Bob Bilby. Bingo looks down sadly, and scuffs at the rug with her foot. She turns around. Suddenly, Bob rushes back and hugs her from behind. Bingo turns around and returns the hug.

[End credits]

The music from the montage, with triumphant brass and synth arpeggios, plays over the credits. Buddy walks in, picking his nose.
