Bluey: The Videogame is a video game based on the hit TV series. Released on November 17, 2023, it is developed by Artax Games and published by Outright Games for all major 8th and 9th gen platforms: Microsoft Windows (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch.[1][2]
Furthermore, to celebrate the game's launch, Xbox introduced a special Bluey Xbox Series X console, which fans had the chance to win by tweeting with the hashtag #BlueyXboxSweepstake. The sweepstake ended on December 13, 2023.
Gameplay[]
The game has been described by IGN as an "interactive sandbox", which allows players to free-roam Bluey's Brisbane and play the Heelers favourite games while featuring a four-part story which entices players to play through to gain in-game rewards. The game features the series' original voice talent.[3]
Collectables are stored in the sticker book. To get them, you must either find a certain object, like a toy, or water plants. The toys that have been found can always be selected from the toy basket to play with.
By finding collectibles, you can earn XP, which can unlock hats.
The PlayStation 4 version features double entitlement for the PlayStation 5 edition, with Smart Delivery on offer for the Xbox One and Series X/S. The Nintendo Switch version runs at only 30 FPS at 1080p when docked and 720p in portable mode, with the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC versions running at a max resolution of 4K and 60 FPS and the Xbox Series S version running at 1440p and 60 FPS. Theoretically, this would make this the first official Bluey content to run in 4K.[4] The game runs on Unity.

Plot Recap[]
Before the game begins, the player is given the opportunity to choose between the four nuclear Heeler family members. Episodes in the game can be replayed in any order after completion.
Warning - spoilers!
It's another morning at the Heeler House. Bandit and Chilli get some shuteye as the kids walk up to them. They're ready for a fun holiday! Bluey shows the parents a sticker book she's made for the occasion. This holiday, the Heelers plan to meet Muffin at the playground, talk with Granddad, and go to the beach! The girls are soon about to play Mermaids, but Chilli tells them to tidy up the house - they've practically turned it into a zoo with all the animal toys lying around.
Episode One - "Holidays!"[]
The Heelers are soon at work helping tidy up the house. After all the animal toys are cleaned up, Bingo directs Bluey's attention to the Last Balloon. Perhaps it's time for some good-ol' Keepy Uppy! After a quick bounce in the play room, they move the game outside. Bandit gives the balloon a bit of help, but it flies into the spare bedroom. The girls retrieve the balloon, with Bluey finding what seems to be a map drawn on the back of an old picture of Bandit in the 80's. This spurs the family into a new objective: find the treasure.
Finishing this episode allows you to play Keepy Uppy.
Episode Two - "Rescue!"[]
The Heelers are going to visit Uncle Stripe and Muffin at the park, hoping to ask Stripe about his map piece. After setting up a stand to catch Gecky, the four head to the park, where they find Stripe and Muffin after some searching around. Muffin insists on everyone playing dress up as well, and they then play a game of Ground's Lava and rescue Muffin, who is pretending to be a princess. Following the game, Stripe surrenders his map piece before heading home with Muffin for lunch.
Finishing this episode allows you to play Ground's Lava.
Episode Three - "Chattermax!"[]
The Heeler kids colour with a sense of patience within; still waiting for Gecky. Just then, the bell rings; the kids demand Bandit not to open the door, so he hollers for the Heeler outside. It's Radley - Bandit tells him to instead go through the back. However, the pathway to the back is occupado by active sprinklers. After the Heelers turn off the haywire sprinklers, Radley shows the kids their late Christmas present; a Chattermax.
Immediately, the Chattermax demands food of numerous kinds, and soon goes haywire. The Heelers are forced to chase Chattermax through the house as it goes thrashing about the place, with the toy even hurting Radley and stealing his wallet (and map piece). Soon, the cunning Chattermax is completely contained, and Radley hands the Heeler kids his map piece.
Finishing this episode allows you to play Chattermax Chase.
Episode Four - "Treasure!"[]
Grandad is now in the house as the kids come over with the Magic Xylophone. After a good few tests with the other family members, the Heelers convene and obtain supplies for their journey to the creek. After rock hopping and saving Mort from mozzies, the Heelers find that the creek is in less-than-satisfactory shape, so they put the supplies to good use. After cleaning up the creek, the kids finally arrive at the place where Bandit had buried the treasure.
Said treasure is an Action Lad doll- er, action figure. The reason why it's hidden? Bandit and bros brawled over the doll, so their father told them to put it away. The brothers decide to bury it so no more arguments ensue.
Finishing this episode allows you to play Magic Xylophone.
Epilogue[]
Bingo enjoys her new 80's toy, while Bluey remains despondent. Chilli rallies Bingo, as it's time to go to the beach! However, Bluey voices her disappointment to her father, who decides to show her the sticker book and all the memories she and her family has made throughout the holidays. Reassured, Bluey hugs her father as Gecky finally falls.
However, no one catches it - even Bandit, who's last out the door.

Trivia[]
- This is the first Bluey video game released on consoles.
- This is the second official Bluey video game after Bluey: Let's Play! - also released in 2023.
- The game features the younger versions of Bandit, his brothers and Bob Heeler, all of which were first seen in Fairytale.
- Bluey and Jean-Luc's tent from Camping can be found at the Creek.
- An image of Bluey riding her bike from the titular episode also hangs on the wall of the Heeler house.
- This game shares the same release date (17th November 2023) as the Super Mario RPG remake and the reboot of 2017 Star Wars Battlefront II.
- Some of the trophies and/or Achievements are references to Bluey episodes.
- The game contains some assets that are low quality, most notably Bandit's muzzle.
- Unlike most games, Bluey: The Videogame's PC version stores its save files in the Windows Registry.
- The location varies on the game verison. On 1.0, the game stores it's files to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DefaultCompany\Project biscuits], while more recent versions save the files to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DefaultCompany\Project biscuits ], only varying with a space.
Glitches[]
- Performance varies on the base eighth-generation consoles (non-Pro).
- Sometimes, in the "Chattermax!" episode, prior to a post-launch update, Bandit will repeatedly say "C'mon, squirts, let's go meet Rad in the backyard!"
- When something is collected, the collected item and some other item will trigger an "item has been collected" animation, even though only one item was collected.
- In the beach, if the player goes underneath the umbrella, the player will be stuck and will only be able to select a character or quit the game.
- In the creek, there is a rare instance where Bluey, Bingo, and Chilli will repeatedly walk over the waterfall.
- If the player jumps in the "Rescue!" episode, there is a chance they could get frozen in mid-air.
- If the player touches lava after returning to the safe spot, the player will repeatedly hop on their legs, even if on the safe spot.
- Bandit is missing half of his hair on the black area throughout the game, even when he's younger.
- Stickerbook Storage: You can store the stickerbook by picking up an object, then going to the stickerbook. When you're at the stickerbook, drop the object. As it falls, open the games menu and select any game. The menu will open, and you can select any episode or travel to any other location.
- This allows you to skip a checkpoint in any episode by doing this glitch, then selecting an episode. After that, end the game or disconnect your controller. You can open the stickerbook at any point during the episode to skip a checkpoint. This can lead to a softlock and a broken save file depending on where you activate the glitch in the episode.
- This can also lead to another softlock in which the game over sequence for Keepy Uppy would play repeatedly until restarting the game. This can be achieved by doing stickerbook storage with Keepy Uppy, and either traveling to another location that is not a part of the heeler house, or by doing Episode 2 as fast as you can so that the timer runs out while at the Playground. Make sure the timer runs out while away from the Heelers' house.
- You can do a softlock by reloading your save file at any point after finishing episode 2, requiring you to restart. This happens once per save file, and will no longer happen if you restart the game at any point. This softlock only happens on the Nintendo Switch version.
