Blue Mountains is the twenty-first episode of the first season of Bluey.
Synopsis
Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad all play a game of hand puppets, exploring the land beyond the Blue Mountains where they'll have to outsmart the Cheeky Fox to find the softest beds in the world.
Episode Recap
Bluey, Bingo and Chilli are outside playing a game of hand puppets. Bluey (little sister) tells Chilli (big sister) that she is no fun as Big Sister claims they need to find somewhere safe and warm to sleep. Bingo (little fairy) says she can lead them into the perfect spot with the softest, warmest beds in the world, in the Blue Mountains (the sleeping form of Bandit).
As they embark up the blue mountains (and see a spectacular view of the real Blue Mountains, complete with the three sisters), Big Sister frets about the danger. Once they slide down a hill though, her frown turns to a smile as she embraces the adventure.
Suddenly, a big blue wall (Bandit's arms) appears, and they have to find the secret tickly spot to make it come crashing down. As they find it and scratch it, Bandit's giggles make him release his arms, clearing a path for the sisters and little fairy to run through.
As big sister realizes how much fun she’s having once she relaxes, a “kindly fox” (Bandit) appears, promising to take them to the softest, warmest beds in the world. Little Sister doesn’t trust the cheeky fox though and tries to warn Big Sister. As they appear at a stinky cave (Bandit's open mouth), the fox's voice changes (as obviously Bandit is trying to talk with his mouth open) but he tells them that is where the beds are. Big Sister runs in and is immediately stuck in the cave and getting licked all over.
Little Sister Bluey confronts the sneaky fox and throws him, plugging Bandit's nose, which results in him blowing Big Sister Chilli out of the mouth cave.
As the sisters and little fairy reunite and celebrate their safety, they find the softest, warmest beds in the world... Bandit's ears. And they come complete with enough wax to make a hundred candles.

Trivia
- In real life, The Blue Mountains are a mountainous area within The Great Dividing Range lying just west of Sydney. In eyes of early settlers and convicts, the lands beyond the range were thought to contain arable lands, while in the minds of others, some considered China to lie beyond. To date, the National Park of The Blue Mountains is among the most visited in Australia, and is by far in New South Wales.
- Additionally, the backdrop of the episode is likely in The Blue Mountains itself, at the Govetts Leap viewpoint[1], which is about 100KM from Central Sydney. If this location is correct, this would mark the first and only time that an Australian location outside Queensland has been shown.
- The rug that is used in the episode was used previously used in Shadowlands and would be used again in Seesaw.
- This is the third episode, after Takeaway and Calypso, to be set in a singular location.
- The episode title is a reference to the actual Blue Mountains in Western Sydney.
- Long Dog: This long dog is purple-ish with a teal-ish spot on it's back. It can be spotted on the left side of the screen by the rocks immediately after the title card.
- When this episode aired on Disney Channel in the US, it was paired with Shops and The Pool.
- On this episode's page on the official website, the character section has the characters' hand puppets instead of themselves.
- Error: When the title card is read by Bluey, the episode title is read as "The Blue Mountains".
